At aroud 03:00 at night we noticed the volcano got more active and we decided to climb the mountain in the dark. We arrived at the top right at sunrise. The volcano was glowing and smoking and the scene was beautifull. It was very…

Iceland, mini blog 3
We’re making quite some progress since the last update as we are now in the north of the country already. Iceland keeps surprising us, the scenery here is incredibly diverse and keeps changing, sometimes even after every corner. We’ve seen/done some amazing things the past few days, hike towards enormous waterfalls, drive across alien landscapes, bathe in geothermal water and last but not least, seen whales from five meters away. We have some better pics to share with you, but we can’t wait to show you so here are some made with our phones! We’ve now pretty much checked off all the items on our “what to see in Iceland”…

Iceland, mini blog 2
We’re keeping up the pace. As we write this we’re in the south eastern tip of the island. Tomorrow we’re heading up and we intend to pass the east side in one day. It’s an absolute blast so far. We keep getting amazed by the natural beauty here which seems to change dramatically each few kilometers. Sleeping in the tent has also been going well so far although we had hoped to find more campsites which allowed our camping card. That card gives you cheap access and sometimes even a “free” stay. It was potentially a money saver. As you might see in the pictures, food ain’t cheap! We got…

Iceland, mini blog 1
It’s a bit late but here we go, we’re in Iceland! We have very limited access to internet and no means to process any images taken with our cameras. So we decided to do some smaller blogs from our phones. We will put he images put online when we return. The start It was a rougher start then we had hoped. Iceland Air decided to cancel our flight about two hours before we were heading to the airport. They rebooked us onto a flight to Copenhagen, there we had a six hour transfer. From there we had a connecting flight to Reykjavik. All in all it was going to be…
