Mt Fuji-san

For some reason we did not meet with Mount Fuji-san last year. Normally you would consider the majestic mountain in the middle of Japan to be a must visit attraction. Maybe thats why we thought we would eventually visit it at some point in the future.

That day was today. We went on a bus tour to visit the area around the base of Mount Fuji and finally see the most well-known mountain in the world. The tour was mostly focussed on a few areas around the mountain where you could also view the pretty autumn leaves.

The three sights we visited were Saiko Iyashi No Sato Nemba, a small town with very old traditional houses, the Shrine of Arakura Fuji Sengen and finally the autumn festival near lake Kawaguchi. Even though it was extremely busy everywhere, it was a fun day with lots of pretty sights and we can finally corss Mount Fuji of our list, for now 😉
