Japan

Osaka Castle, museum and Shrine

Osaka Castle

We wanted to visit Osaka because of its castle, that also exist out of a museum and the Tenman-Gu Shrine. The castle was built by Hideyoshi Toyotomi which comes from a big family. After the fight for territory the Toyotomi family was no more and Tokugawa family was pointed as shogun by the emperor and rebuild the castle. We saw these names coming up at many castles. The most of the castle including this one was bombed after the second world war because of the Japanese occupation. It was the first castle that was not under construction. Within the castle there was a museum. On the top we had a very nice view at the city.

Tenman-Gu shrine

Tenman-Gu temple is also an old shrine which can be used for different kind of ceremonies. We like the shrines in Japan. They are so peaceful and the religion is very uncommon. We do not yet fully understand it, but we are trying to. All the shrines are made of dark colored wood or painted red or orange.
