Train to Kanchanaburi

We love to take the train and wanted to go to Kanchanaburi. and there are many thing to see. One of the trains we love traveling in is the rapid. It is a train with wooden cabins and open windows, but it also has second class seats. To get to Kanchanaburi we had to changes trains at Nakhon Pathom. The first train from Cha-Am departed at 4:10 conform the schedule. We saw it had a delay of 70 minutes. We waited for the train on the dark station. The second train was the one from Nakhon Pathon to Kanchanaburi. This was an ordinary train and had only third class. Luckily for us, there was plenty of room. The ride was only an hour and a half away.

Bridge on the river Kwai

Kanchanaburi is one of the historic places know for its World War two battle. It is also known because of the movie โ€œThe bridge on the river Kwaiโ€. One of the things we wanted to see in Kanchanaburi is the river kwai bridge. We went to visit this off course and it was very impressive. We saw a part of the original bridge in the Jeath Railway Museum that is close to the new bridge. The museum is very informative. They also talk about the World War two in Europe and even Stalin was mentioned.

The new bridge is still active, but it is not very busy and you can walk over it. On the bridge there are some places where you can go if the train is coming. But even that looked kind of dangerous. It was very fun and impressive to stand on.
